AUSTIN – April 14, 2011 – Energetic Solutions Corporation, LLC, today announced their $30,000 donation of shoo!TAG, a chemical-free insect repellent product, to Family Legacy’s Camp LIFE summer program in Zambia, Africa. Family Legacy brings financial support, faith and hope to the children of Zambia who have been plagued by poor health, economic hardship and dismal living conditions. Energetic Solutions Corporation wanted to assist Family Legacy in its mission to serve more than 10,000 orphans through its summer program.
The donation will help to protect children, staff and volunteers from mosquitos throughout the seven-week camp this summer. Mosquitos are a serious health threat across Africa, and according to the World Health Organization, are responsible for 225 million cases of malaria each year.

People Mosquito Test Results
Well, the results are in regarding the People Mosquito test of our shoo!TAG® product conducted a few weeks ago. And they are a good!
Here is what we did. We placed two identical tents 50 yards apart in a filed surrounded by wooded space away from the rest of the world. We loaded each tent with about 1000 mosquitos! (that’s 2,ooo total if you are counting.) Then we found 7 volunteers to venture into the tents. We placed each of the volunteers in mosquito-proof clothing leaving only their arms exposed. Next our volunteers entered the tents and remained for 10 minutes – the longest 10 minutes of their lives! When we let them out, we marked every bite and counted them.
Our “volunteers” (yes, we keep using that term beccasue it sounds better than mosquito victims) all followed the same strict protocol outlined by our test proctor. This included controling what they wore, what they ate, etc before participating in the test. All of the volunteers had been wearing a shoo!TAG® tag against their skin for at least 24 hours prior to the test. Here is the fun part – 3 of the volunteers were wearing tags that were not activated with our technology, in other words, we had given them tags that just looked pretty – they didn’t work. None of the volunteers even knew ahead of time that their tags were not working. We sprang that bit of charming news on them right before they entered the tents. Surprise is one word you could use here. But we had to make sure that their was no way anyone could “influence” the test results and this was the best way to do that.
We cut together a video chronicling from the event, you can see that in The Lab here. It will go through the test specifics and allow you to see how all the parts were conducted. If you have some doubts, it certainly proves the efficacy of this product. Or if you do not have doubts and just like seeing people trapped in a tent filled with mosquitos getting eaten alive – then you will enjoy it as well.
But let us brag for a moment - we mean – share some highlights of the test.
- 1 person in the “nonworking tag tent” got bitten 98 times!
- 1 person in the “working tag” tent got bitten 0 times! (yes that is zero as in none, zip, nada)
- After 10 minutes, we had the people with the working shoo!TAG® tags remove them and go back into the tent -
- We left them in the tetn just 5 minutes and when they came out, they had 97 bites!
- That is 2x the amount of bites from the first round in “nonworking tag” tent
- Overall, people wearing our technology correctly got bitten 74% less than the ones who did not.
- This is amazing when you consider that none of our backyards actually have 1000 mosquitos per 10 square feet like out tents! So that number is even more impressive.
- Plus, when you consider that our technology last for up to 4 months, you can see how you can save a lot of green with not having to buy dozens of cans of repellent.
This was a highly controlled test with on-site oversight (say that 1o times fast) by a professor from Texas A&M University who specializes in the statistical control of these types of tests and conducted the official final analysis. (He was our proctor.) While we have always said that our solution was not perfect - and this test confirmed that - we have stated that our solution is the only all-natural, chemical-free, totally green solution that uses no messy liquids, sprays or harmful poisons to protect you and your family from mosquitos. shoo!TAG® does the best job in reducing those pesky bugs from annoying you. 1) If we are able to re-encode the tags, meaning we are able to make them work again, we will donate the tags to a participating philanthropic organization. For example, pet tags are sent to animal shelters for use while the animals are waiting for their forever home. People tags are sent to homeless shelters, where those who spend the majority of their time outdoors are able to use them until they find a permanent home as well.
2) If we are unable to re-encode tags, they are crushed up and the remnants are used to make the next shoo!TAG®s. Who knows, maybe somewhere down the line you will be using part of a tag that you returned to us. Now that is pretty cool!
